Astute Tech Insights FEBRUARY 2026

Today marks a milestone I’ve been working toward for years: the first production run of BushNET. After countless iterations, tests, and more tea than I care to admit, the future of the Generic Vehicle Architecture (GVA) hasn’t just arrived — it’s power up, stable, and already trying to tell the rest of the system what to do. With AI server at the edge, secure comms, intelligent routing, GVA out of the box, CAN bus ready and a networking backbone built for contested environments, BushNET is now very real. At this point, I’ve assembled everything short of the actual armoured hull. If anyone has a spare tank lying around, I’m open to collaboration.

This launch comes at a pivotal moment. As we explore in the February 2026 edition of the Astute Systems newsletter, the defence landscape is shifting rapidly. AI agents are now capable of building entire compilers, autonomous systems are learning through world‑modeling, and governments across the region are tightening their grip on information security. For Australia and the broader APAC region, maintaining a technological edge is no longer optional — it’s essential. Initiatives like AUKUS highlight the need for secure, resilient, sovereign AI capabilities, and BushNET is our contribution to that future: a mission‑ready backbone designed for modernisation programs like the ADF’s ongoing transformation.

We’re also watching the rise of space‑based applications and even MMO‑style environments built exclusively for AI agents — a sign of just how quickly the AI is evolving. As these domains expand, so too does the need for robust, interoperable, and intelligent mission systems. That’s why we’re proud to bring BushNET into the world, and why we’re always ready to partner with organisations shaping the next generation of defence capability. If you’ve got the platform, we’ve got the brains — let’s build something formidable together.
